About Malin Broberg

Biography

Licensed clinical psychologist and an associate professor at the department. She got her degree from Umeå University in 1996.

Teaching

Malin has been teaching and coordinating courses among several of the educations given at the department, for the moment Malin has a post doc position financed by the Swedish Institute for Health Sciences and she is also working on a research grant from FAS. Malin is supervising two doctoral students, Petra Boström and Stina Järvholm

Research interests

My research focuses is on the psychological well-being of children with disabilities or chronic illnesses and their families. I am especially interested in the importance of risk and protective factors for the development of psychological health. I have a strong clinical interest and collaborate with habilitation centres and children’s hospitals. I’m chairing a nation wide group conducting a systematic literature review on evidence based parent-support. I also take part in interventions studies looking at effects of parental education intervention towards parents of children with communication delays and obesity. I have initiated a national network in paediatric psychology with the aim of creating long-term creative work integrating clinical practice and research, by finding ways to combine research and clinical work and initiating research in clinical settings.
