Docent lecture: A psychology of deception


Timothy J. Luke completed his PhD in 2015 at John Jay College of Criminal Justice and is now a researcher in the Criminal, Legal, and Investigative Psychology (CLIP) research group at the University of Gothenburg. In addition to teaching at the doctoral and advanced level, he is also the director of the Master´s Programme in Psychological Science. His research primarily deals with deception and its detection, as well as interviewing and interrogation in police and intelligence contexts. He is currently working on a project funded by the Federal Bureau of Investigation aimed at developing interviewing techniques for collecting information from criminal suspects and intelligence sources. He has also begun working on projects related to research methodology and statistics.
