About Cecilia Bergstad

Biography

I started to work as a research assistant at this department (1997-2000) and at Chalmers University of Technology, Department of Transportation and Logistics (1998-1999). In 1998 I was admitted to the graduate program and obtained my M.S. Sc. in psychology, 2001, and my Ph.D. in psychology, 2004. Since then I have been employed as a teacher and researcher. During the years 2006-2009, I also worked in a research project at the Centre for Consumer Science, School of business, economics and law, University of Gothenburg.

Teaching

I teach in several courses at both first- and second level, mainly social psychology, environmental psychology and personality psychology.I also supervise student essays.

Research interests

My research interests are focused on factors such as values, norms, attitudes, motivation, volitional control etc. that partly predict and may play an important role for changing environmental significant behaviours, such as travel behaviour consumption and household energy use. I am also interested in how such factors interplay with environmental (and transport) policy-making, acceptability and implementation of policy measures.

Member of the  the research group Environmental Psychology Unit (EPU) and the Social Science Energy research on human dimensions platform PERSON http://www.person.eu/

Current research
